Luke Edwards appointed as Designer Relations Liaison UK

February 24, 2025

We are excited to announce the appointment of Luke Edwards as Designer Relations Liaison for the UK. A seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in both the creative and technical aspects of the live event industry, Edwards will play a key role in expanding our presence in the UK. His new role will involve fostering stronger relationships with designers, technicians, rental companies, and production managers who are exploring the potential of our performer tracking systems for their productions.

Edwards brings a diverse background to Follow-Me, having started his career in Belgium’s sound and lighting rental sector. From humble beginnings cleaning cables after festivals to managing complex projects, Edwards gained a deep understanding of the challenges and intricacies of live event production. His path led him to lighting design, where he toured with well-known artists like Gary Numan, Kelis, Jessie J, and Jacob Collier. After stepping back from touring due to health reasons, Edwards turned to freelance work, diving into LED video rental and virtual production, and eventually taking on a designer relations role at Vari-Lite.

“I’m thrilled to take on this new role at Follow-Me, where I can support designers in exploring the full potential of their systems,” said Edwards. “The opportunity to break free from traditional lighting techniques and show designers new possibilities is incredibly exciting. Follow-Me provides a revolutionary way to enhance performances, and I’m eager to help others discover this.”

In his role, Edwards will focus on training and educating UK designers and technicians, conducting product demos, and facilitating the implementation of our tracking systems across various live event settings. Additionally, he will support rental houses and in-house venue staff in incorporating our solutions into their daily operations.

“Helping designers realize their creative vision is deeply rewarding,” Edwards added. “Having faced the challenges of bringing a concept to life, I’m excited to help others gain the confidence they need to use Follow-Me technology and take their shows to the next level.”

Marc Van der Wel, Managing Director at Follow-Me, shared his enthusiasm about the appointment:

“We are delighted that Luke has joined the team. His experience, both technical and creative, will be invaluable as we strengthen our relationships with UK designers and technical teams. Luke’s involvement will help maintain and elevate Follow-Me’s reputation for providing industry-leading performer tracking solutions and unmatched customer support.”

As part of his role, Edwards will also be organizing demo sessions where designers and technicians can experience our automated tracking system in action. With a hands-on approach to working with the industry, Edwards aims to ensure Follow-Me remains the go-to choice for designers seeking innovative ways to push the boundaries of their craft.
