Looking back: Follow-Me Open Day: Full of insight and innovation
June 23, 2025
As the lights dimmed and the last attendees headed home, we wrapped up a succesful Follow-Me Open Day supported by SLX and Underbelly Boulevard Soho. The Follow-Me Open Day in the Underbelly Soho Boulevard last June 17th 2025 was another step forward for our performer tracking solutions. This time, the spotlight was on our systems in action, welcoming lighting designers, operators, production managers, and forward-thinking creatives for an informal, hands-on experience and inspiring conversations.
Held in collaboration with our industry partners, this open day brought together professionals eager to explore the possibilities of Follow-Me 3D and Follow-Me Track-iT. Whether they were longtime users or new to the world of performer tracking, everyone got a chance to dive into the technology, ask questions, and see what the future holds.
It was so lovely having so many familiar faces and industry friends at the Follow-Me Open Day. Watching people get genuinely excited about what Follow-Me can do for their shows. That kind of energy is just the best feeling.

A hands-on format with real-time demonstrations
The drop-in event format meant no pressure, no formal presentations—just practical demos, in-depth conversations, and the freedom to explore. Our team was on hand throughout the day, ready to guide guests through the system’s capabilities and answer the kinds of questions that only come from real-world experience. With both the manual and auto tracking options available, visitors could test the systems for themselves, whether they were interested in fine-tuning for a theater show, integrating with a large-scale tour setup, or discovering how to transition from manual-operated to automated control (or use both).
The space of the Underbelly Boulevard Soho was modest (192 seats), but the impact wasn’t. Our demo setup featured multiple fixtures covering a range of positions, all controlled via Follow-Me. Attendees saw for themselves how quickly and smoothly the system switched between manual and Track-iT auto mode—highlighting how easy it is to adapt the system to a live performance environment, no matter the venue size.
With its ability to assign multiple tags to performers and maintain precision even in blackout, Track-iT offered a real glimpse into what’s possible when lighting design meets performer tracking. We demonstrated how zone control can trigger cues automatically, how backup protocols work, and how seamlessly Follow-Me integrates with your existing lighting desk.
Creativity meets control
One key takeaway from the day? Flexibility. Follow-Me gives lighting designers the power to think differently. Mapping any moving head into a performer tracking light fixture doesn’t mean you have to—it simply gives you the choice. And for productions that demand dynamic tracking across complex stage layouts, that choice is game-changing.
We talked through best practices for fixture selection, latency, tracking speed, and real-world considerations like firmware, lens types, and set interaction. Every conversation reflected our core philosophy: the tech should never get in the way of the creative process—it should enhance and facilitate it.
Easy to learn, built to grow
Despite its advanced capabilities, the Follow-Me system remains set up and operator-friendly. Most visitors picked it up quickly, with just a brief intro. For those wanting to dive deeper, we highlighted our growing library of tutorials, manuals, and support documents available for users through My Follow-Me, as well as our training options in the UK and the Netherlands.
Looking ahead
The Follow-Me Open Day wasn’t just a demo day—it was a dialogue. And that’s exactly what we hoped for. As our technology continues to evolve, so too does the community around it. The feedback we received, the questions we were asked, and the ideas shared all contribute to the way we build, improve, and support our systems.
If you couldn’t make it this time, don’t worry—we have more events in the pipeline. In the meantime, we’re always here to help you explore what’s possible with Follow-Me. Whether you’re planning a high-speed dance production, a multi-venue tour, or a site-specific immersive experience, Follow-Me is ready to track every step of the way. Contact us >
